Machine that will produce 1.5 million masks per month arrives in Chile

Under CMPC’s commitment to the community, especially in the context of the Coronavirus health crisis, on Saturday, April 11, the company, through Softys, received in Chile the machine it acquired for the manufacture of masks. It will produce an average of 1.5 million units of this product per month and they will be delivered free of charge to public health services, all with the aim of contributing to reducing the risks of contagion among the population.

Softy´s technicians have already started the installation of the device at the Puente Alto plant and it is expected that the free of charge delivery of masks to public health services will begin in early May.

Also, the Caieiras plant, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, received that same weekend the machine that will be installed and will operate in that country.

This initiative joins others aimed 100% at caring for the community in the context of the health contingency due to the Coronavirus, such as the donation of alcohol gel and diapers to Senama centers, the sanitation of communes, among others.
