Santiago, August 25, 2026.- The Governor of the State of Georgia, Brian P. Kemp, met with CMPC executives in Santiago, with the aim of discussing opportunities to deepen the company’s commercial relationship with the state and strengthen its presence in the U.S. market.

The relationship between CMPC and Georgia spans more than two decades. The company’s commercial platform in the United States is based in Atlanta, where close to 40 people work and from where it markets and distributes forestry products, lumber, pulp, paperboard and paper sacks.

The state also holds a relevant place within the company’s commercial network. CMPC maintains business relationships with Georgia-Pacific, Home Depot and First Quality, among others, while its productive presence in the United States is concentrated in Powell Valley Millwork, a wood products operation with two plants in Kentucky, acquired in 2023.

During the meeting, Kemp presented Georgia’s capabilities for attracting investment, particularly its forestry base and its logistics and port infrastructure.

“The United States is a very significant market for CMPC and could become even more important in the future. We have had a presence there for years through our commercial office, and we see opportunities to continue building long-term relationships with our clients and, eventually, to explore new investments, especially in wood products,” said Bernardo Larraín, chairman of the board of Empresas CMPC.

Meanwhile, the CEO of Empresas CMPC, Francisco Ruiz-Tagle, stated that “Georgia carries significant weight within our presence in the United States: it accounts for close to 25% of our sales in that market. Building on that base, we see opportunities to continue growing and to build long-term relationships, a view we share with the state of Georgia and one that can open new avenues for public-private collaboration.”

Georgia’s ports are among the fastest-growing in the United States, and they continue to increase efficiency and decrease costs for companies importing and exporting in Georgia. Thousands of miles of rail and highways connect our two deepwater ports to forestry resources around the Southeast, and CMPC understands the advantages that come from doing business in Georgia, said Governor Brian Kemp.

State authorities proposed connecting CMPC with the local forestry association and facilitating links with players in the port sector, with the aim of deepening the company’s relationship with these sectors and exploring new growth opportunities in the United States.
