The Animalphabet
Help your child associate letters with their sound and give them a tool they can use whenever they need it to play writing.
Who can do it?
Children 4 to 6 years old.
Materials:
-Printed Animalphabet or drawn, color pencils. Download Animalphabet here
Instructions:
- Present the animalphabet and associate each letter with its sound. They can do it while they’re painting it.
- On each occasion, say the name of the animal by lengthening the sound of the first letter so that the child makes the relation letter (as written), sound and name of the animal that starts with that sound: EEEEEEEEEEElephant.
- Ideally stick the animalphabet or store it near where the kid usually works so that every time he/she plays writing and have doubts about how to represent a sound, he/she can use it as a guide.
