The cornerstone of the CMPC Institute is laid in Brazil

With completion scheduled for 2027, the project aims to be a center for education and culture activities for the local community of Guaíba, in Rio Grande do Sul.

During an event held this Monday, September 6, in Guaíba, Rio Grande do Sul, the cornerstone of the CMPC Institute was officially laid. A symbolic moment occurred during the ceremony with the planting of a yellow ipê sapling, a tree native to the region that will be part of the architectural project.

Construction of the headquarters, located in the Alegria neighborhood, is scheduled to begin in December, with completion expected in 2027. It will be a comprehensive and multifunctional space in the city of Guaíba, offering the local community the opportunity to attend and participate in activities focused on the pillars of education and culture.

Leaders from CMPC Brazil and Chile were present, as well as various local authorities, including the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite; the vice mayor of Guaíba, Claudia Jardim; and the mayor of Barra do Ribeiro, João Feijó.

“We will build this space because we feel like we are part of this community. We are motivated to be a fundamental factor for the economic development of Guaíba and Rio Grande do Sul, just as we are inspired to generate opportunities for the progress of all its inhabitants,” commented Francisco Ruiz-Tagle, CEO of CMPC.

Antonio Lacerda, CMPC’s General Director in Brazil and President of the CMPC Institute, stated: “Here in this space, so dreamed of by us over the last few years, not only children and teenagers but also their family and friends will find welcome, leisure, learning, art, culture, and opportunities to grow and dream of a better future”.
