Other atmospheric emissions

Our industrial processes generate atmospheric emissions of different kinds, which can have adverse effects on the environment and people. This is why we focus on measuring atmospheric emissions produced by our operations, we comply with the regulations applied to each of our plants and we have abatement systems. At the same time, we publicly show our most relevant emissions such as Particulate Matter (PM), Nitrous Oxide (NOx) and Sulphur Dioxide (SO2).

Atmospheric emissions in t

  2017 2018 2019 2020
NOx   8,235 8,743 9,177
SO2   1,508 2,248 1,915
MP   1,556 1,236 1,672

There is the green tax on emissions from fixed sources, which is part of the regulations that were set in the Chilean tax reform in 2014, which began to be applied in 2017. This determines a charge to organizations that emit Particulate Matter (PM), Nitrogen Oxide (NOx), Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) into the air, produced by operations in companies with boilers or turbines starting from 50 MW.
