Generation and characterization
CMPC’s production process generates diverse types of waste and by-products that vary among businesses and subsidiaries. Each of these residues has a different form of treatment, depending on the type of material and whether it is hazardous or non-hazardous.
Our corporate goal for sustainable development in terms of Waste is to be a Zero Waste company to final disposal –sanitary landfills– by 2025, through reduction of waste generation, value increase as by-products and strengthening of circular economy models |

Goal 12.4:By 2020, achieve environmentally sound management of chemicals and all residues throughout their life cycle, in accordance with agreed international frameworks, and significantly reduce their release into the atmosphere, water and soil in order to minimize its adverse effects on human health and the environment.
Goal 12.5:By 2030, significantly reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse activities
