Self-Help Inter-Personal Skills Assessment (SHIPS) is a unique assessment tool on CD-ROM which will work on IBM or Macintosh computers. It has been designed by special needs professionals and persons with special needs, to be used by students who have hearing, visual, and/or physical impairments, and by students who have no impairment. It gives the teacher and the student who is preparing for the world of work, information about the student's strengths and weaknesses in the area of interpersonal skills which are generalizable to over 70 different occupations.

SHIPS video segments describe job situations that might be encountered in the working world. The assessment requires decisions be made about how to act under problem circumstances at work.
